PURPOSE:To greatly decrease an arithmetic quantity as to the musical sound synthesizing method which synthesizes the sound of a musical instrument such as a piano and drums by an additive synthesis system. CONSTITUTION:Plural sine waves amcos(wmn+bm) of angular frequency wm below pi/N (N: specific natural number) are sampled at every N sampling cycles to generate a thinned-out sine wave train amcos(wmNn+bm). The sum of the thinned-out sine wave train amcos(wmNn+bm) obtained for every N samples is calculated as a thinned-out train SIGMAmamcos(wmNn+bm) and on the basis of the thinned-out train SIGMAmamcos(wmNn+bm), a pulse train which becomes SIGMAmamcos(wmNn+bm) in every N sampling cycles and zero in other sampling cycles is generated. This pulse train is passed through a low-pass filter 7 to synthesize a musical instrument sound having a specific waveform. |
