PURPOSE: To provide a Fabry-Perot etalon with a temperature compensation device. CONSTITUTION: Optical fibers 25, 26 and an air gap 39 are provided. This temperature compensation device adjusts the length of the air gap so as to cancel the change in optical fibers due to the change in the ambient temperature. The temperature compensation device is a part of rotating connector capillaries 31 and 32 where optical fibers are buried. The length of these capillary is accurately maintained by a space sleeve 35. In this second implementation example, the passive temperature compensation device is a slab of the Fabry-Perot etalon. The Fabry-Perot etalon can be preliminarily set to a desired wavelength by this passive tuning means. |
