PURPOSE:To provide a method for stripping a double coated wire with high dimensional accuracy from the end of thereof. CONSTITUTION:A stripping blade 14 cut into the second coating 8 of a double coated wire 2 at a position separated by a distance (L1+L2+alpha;alpha>0) from an end thereof in the direction X toward the other end thereof. A length measuring roller 16 is then rotated under that state thus shifting the coated wire 2 by a length (L1+L2) in the direction X. The coated wire 2 is stripped at that position by means of the stripping blade 14. Subsequently, the stripping blade 14 cuts into a first coating 6 at a position separated by a distance L2 from the stripping position. The coated wire 2 is then shifted at least by a length L2 in the direction X with respect to the stripping blade 14 and the first coating 6 is stripped thus forming a core part of length L2 and an exposed part 12 of length L1. |
