PURPOSE: To specify a path by dynamically detecting an ununiform traffic in plural networks for multiconnection. CONSTITUTION: In a shared memory multiprocessor computer system, when memory access is distributed uniformly between memory modules, the memory access is distributed between two networks to maximize performance. When traffic is highly ununiform, traffic is selected based on a dominant traffic state in order to limit the ununiform part of traffic to one network and the other part to the other network. An assigned feedback mechanism detects the change of the traffic state and changes a path specifying method. A traffic monitoring circuit within each memory module consecutively monitors traffic to a memory module to sense the variation of the traffic state. An arithmetic processing element switches to a path specifying method for alternation corresponding to the variation of the traffic state. |
