PURPOSE:To easily generate a document including image data by retrieving image data corresponding to the classification of the document, which is discriminated by a document contents analysis part, from an image data storage part to automatically layout the document including the image data. CONSTITUTION:An operator inputs document data from a document input part 101. A document contents analysis part 102 obtains inputted document data from the document input part 101 to discriminate the classification of document data. An image data retrieval part 104 obtains the classification of document data from the document contents analysis part 102 and retrieves image data corresponding to the classification of the document from an image data storage part 103. A layout information retrieval part 107 obtains the classification of document data from the document contents analysis part 102 and retrieves layout information corresponding to this classification from a layout information storage part 106. A documentation part 105 obtains image data retrieved by the image data retrieval part 104 and layout information retrieved by the layout information retrieval part 107 to generate a document. |
