<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of an ignition coil device for internal combustion engine and to improve significantly the mountability of the device on an internal combustion engine by a method wherein control units for controlling the current conduction through primary coils are housed in the same case by the same number as that of ignition coils. CONSTITUTION:Three pieces of ignition coils 12a, 12b and 12c and control units 2a, 2b and 2c for controlling primary currents of the coils 12a, 12b and 12c are housed in a single case 11. The units 2a, 2b and 2c are fixed on a heat sink 15, which forms one part of the case 11 and consists of a metal material, such as aluminum, having a good heat conductivity, by screws. Moreover, one part of the sink 15 is arranged also on a mounting surface 15a and when an ignition coil device is mounted to an internal combustion engine or the like, the mounting surface 15a is directly brought into contact to the internal combustion engine. An epoxy resin 16 is filled in the case 11 and components in the case are insulated from each other and are fixed. The units 2a, 2b and 2c are respectively fixed and sealed with a resin.</p> |
