PURPOSE: To provide a method for dealing with data in plural data storing disks with a parity sector corresponding to a user data sector. CONSTITUTION: This method is used when nonvolatile RAM 28 is used in an array control processor 25 controlling the operation of a disk and the disk is operated in a non-deterioration or deterioration mode. When new data should be written in an array, nonvolatile RAM 28 stores the numbers of starting sectors to write information and data for identifying the array and sectors to be used for writing new data in order that the parity and data input of corresponding sectors may coincident when a power source fault is generated. In addition, at the time of opening the new array, data and a parity input in the corresponding sectors are coincident and can be inspected, and operation for coincidence like this is executed between the other operations executed by the control processor 25 (namely its 'background'). |
