PURPOSE:To prevent omission of a left and a right video signal by providing a pseudo vertical blanking period with a predetermined time width between the left and the right compression video signal so as to synthesize the signal so as to arrange each valid scanning period for an odd number and an even number signal of one High Vision signal thereby generating a stereoscopic TV signal. CONSTITUTION:An object is picked up by left and right eye use TV cameras 1L, 1R of the high position system and left and right composite video signals are fed to a vertical compression left and right video image synthesis circuit 2. The circuit 2 compresses the left and right video signals in the compression ratio of 11:5 and a pseudo vertical blanking period with a predetermined time width is provided between the left and right compression video signals to form a composite stereoscopic color TV signal. The TV signal is given to an encoder 3, in which the signal is modulated into a TV signal of the MUSE system and fed to a MUSE decoder 7 via an LD 5 of the MUSE system or the MUSE system and demodulated or recorded/reproduced by a VTR 4 and fed to a television receiver 8, in which the left and right video signals are displayed on a CRT in the interlace of 4:2. The picture is observed by left and right eyes through an eyeglass 9 whose liquid crystal shutter for both eyes is switched alternately at 60Hz. |
