A powder-metallurgical process is used for producing travellers for ring spinners, with the powder being processed in an injection-moulding process. Pulverulent starting materials which can be used are nickel, nickel alloys or ceramic materials or molybdenum, iron-molybdenum, or electrographite. The electrographite powder or the ceramic powder can be reinforced by fibres, for example ceramic fibres. The production process can easily be mastered. Depending on the material powder used, the properties of the finished traveller can be influenced in a targeted manner.
