It is desired, with this invention, to reduce the cost of constructing a vaulted ceiling. It concerns a brick consisting of a prism-shaped block, with an isosceles trapezoidal cross section, with slightly converging sides, characterised by horizontal guides on the sides (female on one part and male on the other, that match together) over its whole length and in the centre. By alternating a brick with a half-brick, an arch is built, half a brick in depth, that has regular indentations. Between one indentation and the next and for all the indentations, a brick is inserted that will close the arch by the depth of half a brick, thus presenting regular indentations which will permit the operation to be repeated until the complete arch has been built. A framework is not used, except for the first arch, since the guides prevent the bricks from toppling forwards and therefore falling.

|
