PURPOSE:To obtain a stable photographic performance having less tendency for generating stain after processing by incorporating a specific compd. to a developer which does not contain venzyl alcohol in processing, using a reduced amount of the replenisher used in a washing or a stabilizing treatment, by incorporating a specific compd. to the developer which does not contains benzyl alcohol. CONSTITUTION:The color developer does not substantially contain the benzyl alcohol, and contains at least one kind of the compds shown by formula I. The washing or stabilizing treatment comprises large numbers of tanks. At the time of replenishing, the processing solution by a multi-stage counter current process, the amount of the replenisher is 3-50 times of the amount of the replenisher delivering from a preceding bath. In formula I, M may be the same or the different with each other, and hydrogen atom, an alkaline metal ion or an ammonium ion. When M is a cation having >=2 valents M is 1/(n) the numbers of a cation complied with valency numbers (n). |
