PURPOSE:To obtain a lead storage battery high in voltage and energy density, by impregnating electrode plates, an electrolytic solution holder, and a separator with electrolytic solution or holding them in a gelatinized matter so that zinc solubility is lowered with an extremely small amount of electrolytic solution. CONSTITUTION:A battery jar 4 made of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer is made to be composed of a rubber-fluoride safety valve 5, positive terminal part 6, negative terminal part 6', with lead dioxide in a positive electrode 1 and zinc in a negative electrode 2 serving as main electrode materials, and with extremely fine glass fibers 3 impregnated with electrolytic solution of sulfuric acid. The electrolytic solution of sulfuric acid is contained in the lead dioxide to the degree that free liquid exists. Electrolyte comprising silicon dioxide as a main element and being gelatinized with dilute sulfuric acid can be used, capable of a use with fibrous material and gelatinized electrolytic solution, and besides a synthetic fiber can be used as a fibrous material. |
