The invention relates to a thrust bearing intended to be used in a suspension strut. It relates to a thrust bearing which includes a lower casing (60) comprising a cylindrical part (64) delimiting an opening (63) for passage of a rod (2) of a shock absorber, and a collar part (65) which extends outwards. An upper casing (61) and part of the bearing (62) interact with the lower casing so that the thrust bearing, which contains a lubricant, does not require any sealing gasket which could vary the frictional force between the two casings (60, 61) during their mutual rotation.
