Dowel (1) of the type formed of a body which at one end ends in a head (2) able to accommodate any known fastening means such as a screw, the other end of the body of the dowel (1) forms an expansion region (3) intended to interact with an expansion cone (4), the head (2) is pierced with an axial passage (5) which extends as far as the expansion zone (3), the expansion cone (4) being held in the axial passage (5) in a middle part (23) of the body of the dowel (1), that is to say between the head (2) and the expansion region (3), characterised in that the body of the dowel (1) is formed, in the region of the head (2), of a tubular socket, that the body of the dowel (1) is formed, in the region of the middle part (23) and of the expansion region (3) of two semi-cylindrical parts so that the semi-cylindrical parts are separated from each other by two longitudinal expansion slots (11).
