Device for cleaning a roller assembly (1) for applying paint, the roller assembly consisting essentially of an actual roller (2) and a bent (elbowed) rod (3), one end of which constitutes an axis of rotation for the roller while leaving one end (5) of the roller clear, and the other end of which is equipped with a handle (7), characterised in that it includes holding means for temporarily holding, during cleaning, the roller assembly clamped, between, on the one hand, fixed holding means (25), which hold the bent rod, and, on the other hand, rotary holding means (22) in contact with the clear end of the roller, and in that the rotary holding means are provided with means (30) for driving in rotation in order to drive the roller in rotation on its axis so that cleaning of the roller takes place by spin-drying through the effect of centrifugal force. <IMAGE>
