PURPOSE:To provide a fuel injection engine capable of obtaining good engine performance by directly injecting fuel of very fine amount necessary mainly for promoting ignition in a cylinder to a spark plug or in the vicinity of the spark plug. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection engine 100 is formed of combination of an in-cylinder fuel injection device 2 for injecting fuel of 20 Joule or more 200 Joule or less heating value in the vicinity of an ignition part of a spark plug 4 in a cylinder with an intake system fuel injection device 1 for injecting the rest of fuel to an intake port of the engine, and by either one or both the fuel injection devices in accordance with an operating condition, fuel is supplied. Here, the spark plug 4 with a cylinder injection valve 3, when used, is suited for mounting it on the engine. |
