PURPOSE:To largely improve sealability between a cap member and a cylinder, and between a recording head and the member by forming a back surface of the cap member of capping means for sealing a discharge port surface of the head in a sealing surface for sealing the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A protruding rib 5B for sealing an end face of a cylinder 6 is formed on a back surface of a cap member 5 having a sealing rib 5C for sealing a recording head on its front surface. This rib is so positioned as to be at least partly superposed to a shade of a projection when the rib 5C is projected to the back surface of the member. |
