The present invention relates to an apparatus for reading tachograph discs. It consists of a housing into which the disc to be read is placed. The front face of the housing carries a cursor, a ring and two concentric decks graduated from 0 to 24 which can move around a common spindle. The user mutually aligns the "0"s of the decks, of the ring and of the cursor with the start of recording of the disc. Next, the user swivels the two decks and the cursor by a movement corresponding to a driving time. For a time for other work he moves only the cursor and the small deck, and for a rest time, only the cursor. When the tachograph disc has run round completely, the cumulated times are read off directly on the ring and the decks opposite the "0"s. The self-contained apparatus is particularly intended for the reading of tachograph discs anywhere. <IMAGE>
