<p>PURPOSE:To provide an exhaust emission control device for a diesel engine which can avoid occurrence of inconvenience during a start of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A diesel engine 1 is mounted on a vehicle, and an electrical power is fed to an electrical heater 6 and the like on the vehicle from an external power source 11. A filter 5 for trapping particulate is provided in the exhaust system of the diesel engine, and the electrical heater 6 is located at the upstream end of the filter 5. A motor-driven air pump 9 feeds secondary air into the filter 5. Further, when the electrical heater 6 is energized, particulate trapped in the filter 5 is burnt, and when the air-pump 9 is driven, the combustion of the particulate is promoted so as to regenerate the filter. A CPU 11 cuts out fuel from a fuel injection pump by means of a fuel cut valve 46 so as to forcibly inhibit the operation of the diesel engine 1.</p> |
