ELECTRORHEOLOGICAL FLUID COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain a fluid composition which has high electrorheological effect and low wearability, is excellent in shelf stability with a long life, and gives a stable current value and consumes less power without being affected by the environmental temperature and humidity. CONSTITUTION:Inorganic/organic composite particles consisting of a core 1 made of an organic polymer compound and a skin 3 made of fine inorganic particles 2 comprising an electrical semiconductor in a semiconductor region of an electric conductivity of 10<3> to 10<-11>OMEGA<-1>/cm at room temperature are dispersed in an electrical insulating medium to give the objective composition. The inorganic/organic composite particles are produced by forming the core 1 and the skin 3 at the same time and have a polished surface.
