PURPOSE: To obtain donor sheets which can apply metallic images by setting a carrier layer on a supporting body which includes a thermoplastic organic polymeric binder and metal flakes having an average ratio of length to thickness of 20:1 or larger. CONSTITUTION: A solvent, metal flakes having an average ratio of length to thickness of at least 20:1 and a thermoplastic binder are blended and mixed, whereby a solution for forming a coat is prepared. The solution for forming the coat is applied on a supporting body and dried to form a carrier layer. The donor sheet is obtained in this manner. A thickness of the obtained carrier layer is preferably 1-12 μm, and the average ratio of length to thickness of the metal flakes is preferably in the range of 25:1-200:1. A preferable example of the thermoplastic organic polymeric binder is organic, synthetic, polymer thermoplastic, solvent-soluble or dispersible resins. The binder is preferably 10-90 wt.% to a total weight of the binder and metal flakes. |
