MANUFACTURE OF FRP PART FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To enable a motional part of an engine or the like to be made light in weight since fiber-reinforced plastic can be applied even to a connecting rod requiring high strength by a method wherein a prepreg is preheated in a wound or laminated state, and compression molded by heating at a specific temperature under a specific pressure. CONSTITUTION:A prepreg made in a rod state is heated and compressed in the same way as a fly wheel side crank shaft 4 by using a top force 6a and a bottom force 6b, and molded in a crank shaft form. A hole for fitting to the fly wheel side crank shaft 4 is opened by using a piercing jig 8 of which a tip is conical. The hole can be pierced without cutting a glass cloth by using the jig. For a magnet side crank shaft 9 having the obtained fitting hole 9, a counterweight 5 can be molded by injection molding in the same way as for the fly wheel side crank shaft 4.
