PURPOSE:To provide an architectural base containing an iodine compound such as cement-based tile joint with excellent mildewproofing action without causing an iodine smell by adding sodium thiosulfate. CONSTITUTION:In an architectural base containing an iodine compound, e.g. 2,3,3-triiodoallyl alcohol or diiodomethyl-p-trisulfone such as cement-based tile, sodium thiosulfate and/or sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate to inactivate iodine liberated from the iodine compound is added to the architectural base to provide an architectural base containing a mildewproofing agent. In the base, liberated iodine is reacted with sodium thiosulfate and inactivated to prevent evolution of an iodine smell. 0.01-10 pts.wt. of sodium thiosulfate or sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate added based on the iodine compound has especially excellent preventing effect on evolution of an iodine smell. |
