The invention relates to an adjustable vibration damper for motor vehicles, comprising a damping cylinder (1) in which a damping piston (3) connected to a piston rod (2) slides, which divides the damping cylinder into two working chambers (4, 5). For adjusting the damping force the vibration damper is equipped with a damping valve system (6) comprising two damping valves, arranged coaxially against one another in a cylindrical valve housing, each with a pressure-dependent throttle valve (22, 23) and a solenoid-actuatable control slide valve (12, 13) interacting with at least one passage (10, 11), at least one flow duct being formed by a pipe (16) arranged in the valve housing (15) between the adjustable passages (10, 11), which pipe has at least one passage (17) from the valve internal chamber (18), having the pressure-dependent throttle valves (22, 23) to outside. According to the invention the pipe (16), for forming the flow duct in the area of the flat moulded shape (19a), has an opening (32), the edge (29) of which is tightly pressed to the cylindrical inner face (31) forming the circumference of a passage (17) of the valve housing (15). In addition to good sealing of the valve inner chamber (18) and the passage (17), the advantage of the invention resides in the axial fixing of the pipe (16) to the valve housing (15). <IMAGE>
