The proposal is for a clutch slave cylinder (clutch-actuating device 1), the piston of which is arranged coaxially with a clutch. The clutch slave cylinder is here flanged directly to the gearbox (2) and sealed relative to the latter by suitable means (13, 19, 30), thus eliminating the possibility that the gear oil and the pressure medium of the master cylinder will mingle. A pressure-maintaining valve (36) is provided to preload the piston (3). An extension (45) on the valve piston (37) allows the hydraulic clutch-actuating device (1) both to be secured for transport and to be filled under a vacuum. <IMAGE>
