The device includes at least one carrying pipe through which coolant flows and on which at least one cast-iron guide beam is mounted in rider fashion, the guide beam carrying a plurality of ceramic hearth bricks on its upper side. On its underside, the guide beam is constructed with a plurality of transversely running carrying ribs distributed over the length of the guide beam, by means of which the guide beam is supported on the carrying pipe where the formation of distant spaces into which an insulation reducing the heat emission from the guide beam to the carrying pipe is inserted.
