The invention relates to a drive device for a part of a vehicle which can be adjusted between two limit positions, in particular for a cover of openable vehicle roof. The drive device is actuated by means of an electric motor which is connected via a step-down gear to a pinion arranged on a power output shaft. The drive device also has a switching element which controls the electric motor and has the purpose of deactivating it in at least one predetermined position, an eccentric gear being provided for actuating the switching device. In contrast with a known drive device, an emergency activation device is provided by means of the invention, by means of which emergency activation device manual activation of the power output shaft with simultaneous disconnection of the electric motor while maintaining the connection of the manual gearbox is made possible so that readjustment of the switching means is not required after emergency activation.
