The invention relates to a guide and receiving device for a unit which can be lowered into a liquid-filled vessel and comprises a circulating and/or emptying device and a motor driving this, having a guide tube attached above the vessel liquid level, anchored to the base of the vessel, and which carries a support for the unit situated in its working position. A less complex, secure anchoring is achieved according to the invention by means of an arresting device composed of a hard material arranged on the bottom end of the guide tube and which can be driven into the vessel bottom with a positive lock securing the guide tube against rotation.
