A first step comprises producing a mixture consisting of zirconium and actinides with or without lanthanides. In a second step, the mixture is hydrogenated. In a third step, the hydrides are decomposed with the formation of finely divided metal powder. In a fourth step, the finely divided metal powder is carefully mixed and shaped into articles.
