ACTIVE MATRIX TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE

To drastically improve an aperture ratio of an active matrix type display device and to also drastically reduce power consumption, extension electrodes are integrally formed with scanning lines in an active matrix type display device using TFTs as switch devices. The extension electrodes are disposed in such a manner as to shade the region between each signal line and the two display pixel electrodes adjacent to it.
