The joining member (7) which is to be fastened to a footplate (9), in particular to a housing of a ventilating system for motor vehicles, has a peripheral recess (14). A rigid wing (19) engages in the recess (14) and forms a hook which engages over that region of the recess which faces away from the footplate (9). On the other side of the joining member one of the two flexible wings (27, 28) engages in the recess (14) in order to position the joining member laterally and axially, whereas the other forms a hook on the upper side (45) of the joining member in order to complete the securing thereof against moving apart from the footplate (9). The flexible wings (27, 28) are aligned obliquely in order to bend axes (such as 33) running therealong. Use for a more robust, reliable and cost-effective design of the fastenings which take place by means of latching and are produced, in particular, by one-piece shaping together with the footplate. <IMAGE>
