The manual carrying aid (2) is composed of a carrying handle (1) and a round link chain (17) which can be retained releasably in a chain pocket (10) in the carrying handle (1). At the free end of the round link chain (17) there is a sling hook (29) which is hooked into a chain link (30) when it has been wrapped around a bundle of tubes (27). The distance between the carrying handle (1) and this coupling point can be freely adjusted to the measurements of a transport worker. The carrying handle (1) has, on the underside of the curved upper longitudinal web (4), four undulating recesses (7) which are adapted to the contours of human fingers. A retaining bolt (20) which is displaceable counter to spring force in the lower longitudinal web (3) of the carrying handle (1) secures the position of the round link chain (17) in the chain pocket (10). <IMAGE>
