A watertight connector (100) which is provided with devices (306, 316) which prevents the ingress of water into the electrical connection unit. A double lock is provided in the plug housing (300) and a reduction in size is achieved by the arrangement of a latching arm (314) which is introduced into the connection opening (202) in the plug sleeve housing (202). The sides of the plug housing (300) are surrounded by a sealing element (316) which runs obliquely so that the sealing element (316) runs in the insertion direction in front of the latching arm (314) on a first side which is provided with said latching arm (314) and, on the other side where a double locking element (310) is introduced, the sealing element (316) runs in the insertion direction behind the double locking element (310), as a result of which a watertight connection is produced when the plug sleeve housing (200) engages in the connection opening (202). <IMAGE>
