A method for in situ calibration of a flow meter (10) under test installed in a pipe involves positioning a pre-calibrated insertion meter (20) within the bore of the pipe in series with meter (10) and using the output from the insertion meter (20) to calibrate the meter (10). A calibration system is also described.
