The light vehicle described has, located between the wheels (4v, 4h), a seat (5) for the driver, the seat pivoting to the side so that, when negotiating a curve, the driver can lean into the curve. The vehicle can be fitted with a canopy (72) in order to enhance streamlining and to protect the driver from the weather. The front and rear wheels (4v, 4h) are mounted respectively on longitudinal or inclined swinging arms (26, 26a) providing springing and shock absorption. The vehicle can for instance be driven by muscle power through a chain transmission (6); a motor (61) could be used as auxiliary or main propulsion.
