<p>A rodless cylinder for feeding a workpiece has a cylinder having a cylinder tube (12) with a bore (16) defined therein and a piston (90) reciprocally movably disposed in the bore (16). The cylinder tube (12) has a slit (18) defined therein and extending longitudinally therealong, the slit (18) communicating between the bore (16) and an exterior space. The slit (18) is closed by a first seal member (130) engaging the piston (90) and a second seal member (140) engaging a slide table (14). The piston (90) has a separator (98a,98b) separating the first and second seal members (130,140) from each other. The cylinder tube (12) has a pair of slanted first surfaces (24a,24b) positioned one on each side of the slit (18). A pair of slide members (48a,48b) is disposed on the slide table (14) and having respective second surfaces (50a,50b) engaging the first surfaces (24a,24b), respectively, for guiding the slide table (14) when the piston (90) reciprocally moves in the bore (16) and bearing a load applied to the slide table (14). The rodless cylinder may additionally have a floating mechanism (152) mounted on the slide table (14) for allowing displacements substantially perpendicular to the direction in which the slide table (14) is movable along the cylinder tube (12). <IMAGE></p> |
