Steel door whose door leaf (7) is fixed swivellably on a frame member (1) by means of flap hinges (2), in particular flap hinges which in each case consist of a central hinge region (3) fastened on the door leaf side and of two hinge regions (5) fastened on the frame side which are arranged on both sides of the central hinge region (3). The door is designed or fitted on the hinge side in such a way that for the purpose of providing a smooth surface for the broad sides (8) of the door leaf (7) the frame member (1) receiving the flap hinges (2) is recessed in the swing-region of the hinge regions fastened on the door leaf side.
