In the case of a flexible base course for surfaces used for sporting activities, for instance football, hockey or the like, which is built up on an existing or prepared substructure and exhibits a specific force reduction and also contains a mixture of rubber particles of a specific particle size range and rock particles of a particular grain size range in a specific mixing ratio, provision is made for the mixture to consist of 25 to 40, in particular 30 to 36, percent by volume of rubber of a particle size of 10 to 35, in particular 15 to 28, mm and of 60 to 75, in particular 64 to 70, percent by volume of lava of a grain size of 6 to 25, in particular 8 to 16, mm, the constituents of the base course being unbound, and provision is made for a dry penetration surfacing of rock particles of a grain size range from 2 to 8 mm to be provided in the upper region of the base course and for the base course to be covered by a stabilizing nonwoven.
