There is disclosed a elongate strip (1) comprising a longitudinal reinforcing carrier member (7) bonded to which is a region of a relatively soft elastomeric material (9), characterised in that said carrier is formed from a thermoplastics material which is rigid at ambient temperatures and flexible at an elevated temperature at which the said elastomeric material (9) is substantially stable.
