PURPOSE:To provide a monolithic refractory improved in rupture resistance without yielding the added moisture content rise and the decrease in both corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of the castable refractory. CONSTITUTION:This monolithic refractory is such as to have been incorporated with (A) 0.01-1.0wt.% of warm water-soluble fibers produced from an oxyalkylene group-contg. polyvinyl alcohol-based resin or (B) 0.005-0.4wt.% of warm water-soluble fibers produced from a composition comprising said resin and starch. |
