PURPOSE:To improve detection accuracy for patterns to be detected by providing a means for practically masking the unnecessary part of reference picture data in the reference picture data. CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with a reference picture data generation part 1, a mask picture data generation part 2 for practically masking the data of the picture data generation part 1, a mask processing part 3 for practically masking the unnecessary data of the reference picture data generation part 1 by arithmetic operations, a processing object picture data transmission part 4 and a pattern matching processing part 5 for comparing the data from the processing object picture data transmission part 4 and the mask processing part 3, performing a pattern matching processing and detecting the result of pattern matching. In this case, practical masking in the mask processing part 3 means actions similar to the time of practically masking the data such as masking the data of the unnecessary part, invalidating the data of the unnecessary part and eliminating the data of the unnecessary part, etc. |
