PURPOSE:To immediately display a picture under a picture processing condition at a decoder side by combining a result of coding original picture data with picture processing condition data recognized optimum at a coder side and giving the result to the decoder side. CONSTITUTION:A coding means 21 uses, e.g. discrete cosine transformation to input picture data to make coding. Furthermore, a picture processing condition data storage means 22 stores data under the picture processing condition suitable for the input picture data. The data of the picture processing condition suitable for the input picture data are subjected to picture processing such as gradation conversion or emphasis and the result is displayed repetitively and the condition at which an optimum picture is obtained is set by the repetitive display. Furthermore, an output means 23 combines coded data of the input picture data outputted from the means 21 with picture processing condition data stored in the means 22 to provide an output to a picture decoder. Thus, the decoded picture is obtained at the decoder side by using the picture processing condition considered to be optimum at the coder side. |
