PURPOSE:To manufacture a ceramic insulated wire excellent in insulation resistance by covering a conductor surface with a coating agent of a polymer, conducting a uniform surface treatment followed by drying, then further applying the coating agent to the conductor, and drying it. CONSTITUTION:A conductor such as copper wire supplied from a drum 11 mounted on a supply stand 2 is dipped in a coating agent 5 in an application tank 4. The coating agent 5 consists of a filler such as boron nitride and a binder of a polymer monomer such as silicon resin or the polymer further mixed with ceramic particles. After the coating agent 5 is applied to the conductor 3, the conductor is subjected to a surface treatment with a die 6 to uniform the applied surface, and passed through a drying furnace 7 and a wiper 8 for drying and stabilization. The resulting lower layer covered conductor 12 is wound on a drum 10. This drum is again installed to the supply stand 2 to supply the lower layer covered conductor 12 to the application tank 4, wherein the same or different coating agent 13 is applied thereto followed by drying to provide a ceramic covered wire 60. |
