<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the damage on a magnetic tape by holding a cartridge- senser to a non-detection stste when a data cartridge having the magnetic tape with a width different from each other is inserted into an existing recording/ reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:A senser non-operation part 41 forming a prescribed recession is provided on one end part of a front wall 3a of an upper cover 3 of the data cartridge C2 using the wider width magnetic tape. When the cartridge C2 is inserted from the cartridge port 23 of the recording/reproducing device D1 using the small width magnetic tape, is led into a fixed block 25b and a groove shape part 13. Then, the front end edge 2a of the base plate 2 of the cartridge C2 is inserted until the inner end part of the base plate insertion groove 25a of the device D1. In such a state, by a difference in level between the front end edge of the base plate 2 and the front surface of the non-operation part 41, no upper cover 3 is in cntact with a cartridge-in-senser 34, and no senser 34 is pressurized. Thus, no device D1 is operated.</p> |
