In a badminton racket, the tubular shaft (12) and the upper conical portion (20) of the handle (16) form a junction provided with a joint layer (30) formed by moulding a polymer consisting of giant molecules. The joint layer has a base portion (32) of predetermined thickness, covering the upper conical portion (20) of the handle (16), and an extension portion (34), covering a section (122) of the shaft (12) in such a manner that it progressively thins in the direction from the junction towards the upper end of the shaft (12).
