发明名称 Slip-correcting load-clamping system
摘要 The method includes increasing the proximity of the load-engaging surfaces (14,16) of the clamp (10) to increase grip on an object (12). The increase in proximity is limited to a predetermined distance which is variably dependent on the magnitude of relative movement between the load and the surfaces or slippage. The slippage and two variables pertaining to the surface proximities are sensed. A variable increase in load-engaging surface proximities is immediately actuated. The actuator can be of electric, electromagnetic or fluid type. A time rate for the slippage is determined from the acceleration of the slippage with the actuator grip increase dependent on the time rate. The time rate is equal to the slippage acceleration.
