PURPOSE:To increase the adhesion of polyester fibers to the matrix rubber by treating twisted polyester yarns with a treating solution containing a specific component, then with another treating solution containing a special chlorophenol of a specific chemical structure, RFL and a crosslinking agent. CONSTITUTION:Twisted polyester yarns are treated with the first solution containing a polyoxide (preferably a reaction product of a polyhydric alcohol with epichlorohydrin) and a vinylpyridinebutadiene-styrene terpolymer rubber latex, then with the second solution which contains a mixture of RFL and a special chlorophenol mainly containing tri-, penta- and hepta-benzene nuclei compounds of formulas I, II and III resulting from co-condensation reaction of p-chlorophenol and resorcin with formaldehyde, where the rubber latex is added with a cross-linking agent of a blocked polyisocyanate and the weight ratio of the terpolymer rubber latex in the first solution to a polybutadiene rubber latex is 1/4 to 1/2 in the rubber latex, to give yarns for high-pressure hose having improved adhesion to the matrix rubber. |
