PURPOSE:To provide the translation assisting device which makes the relation between original words and equivalents clear by arranging the equivalents nearby the respective original words of an original sentence and outputting them. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 2 controls respective parts in a word processor 1 according to various control programs stored in a ROM 3 to execute the sequence as the word processor 1 and perform a translation assisting process; and the equivalents to the original words except original words stored in an equivalent unnecessary word memory 6 among the original words of an English sentence (original sentence) stored in a document memory 5 are read out of a dictionary memory 3 and the respective column numbers and display positions of the read original words and equivalents are judged by utilizing a register 7 and written in a display memory 8. |
