PURPOSE:To perform the high-speed address generation in the block transfer in the rectangular area and in the paint-out processing accompanied with the clip processing in the rectangular area to be used in the computer graphics. CONSTITUTION:The output of a transmission destination X address counter 21 is connected to a transmission destination start X address holding register 22. The output of a transmission source X address counter 25 is connected to a transmission source start X address holding register 26. An effective X address is held by using the transmission destination X address compared with a clip area 63 by means of a clip area judgement comparator 23. Thus, effective X address can be obtained promptly at the time of counting up or counting down to the next Y address.
