PURPOSE:To prevent developer from leaking from the sides of a developing device during a developing process by providing a simple structure side-shields at suitable positions on a sleeve periphery at both ends of a developing roller. CONSTITUTION:Developer 2 in a casing 3 provided in the developing device 1 is fed to the developing roller 6 by a stirring arm 10. The developer 2 is attracted onto the rotating sleeve 7 by the action of a fixed magnetic roll 8. Further, the developer 2 is uniformly smoothed on the sleeve 7 by a doctor blade 9 and carried to a photosensitive drum 4 to form a toner image. During the developing process, the side shield 12 provided at a suitable position forms a magnetic shield by the magnetic force lines of the magnetic roll 8. Thus, the developer 2 is supplied to the photosensitive drum 4 without the magnetic force lines between the magnetic roll 8 and the magnetic body causing a leakage of the developer 2 from both the ends of the developing roller 6 having a magnetic brush formed on the rotating sleeve 7 by the use of the developer 2. |
